Scotch Does Her Own Thing

If you own horses, you know that there is a direct correlation between how much trouble they can get into and how bored (or hungry) they think they are.

Usually, “trouble” means nudging open a gate latch or deciding a scary plastic bag is a mortal enemy. But when your horse is Scotch—a massive, majestic cross between a powerhouse Percheron and a clever Paint Horse—”trouble” takes on entirely new dimensions.

Specifically, vertical dimensions.

We all know Scotch is smart. You don’t get the problem-solving brain of a Paint mixed with the sheer, stubborn “I can move mountains” willpower of a draft breed without getting an animal that keeps you on your toes. But yesterday, Scotch didn’t just push the envelope; he climbed right over it.
